So today, I got my badge. Included with the badge is a list of emergency codes that they use in the hospital. Most people are familiar with the term "Code Blue", even if they don't know what it means. (It means cardiac arrest). It's a term that I've heard many times while watching shows like ER.
But the other codes are equally as fascinating. Here are some of my favourites:
- Code Brown: Hazardous Spill
- Code Black: Bomb Threat
- Code Orange: Mass Casualties - Internal or External Disaster
- Code Grey: Air Exclusion - External Toxic/Hazardous Substance Leak
And for your edification, the rest of the list:
- Code Yellow: Missing Patient
- Code Green: Evacuation
- Code Red: Fire
- Code White: Aggression

In my 2 week stay in the hospital, I managed to decode code blue (most frequent), white, and red. I had no idea about the other ones, thanks!
Funny, I never received that card when I got my badge. So I just came up with my own description for the codes.
Code Blue: the Intel Blue Man Group shit
Code Brown: regular shit
Code Black: heavy coffee drinker shit
Code Orange: heavy carrot eater shit
Code Grey: after giving my dog leftover bones from making soup
Code Yellow: Chinese Restaurant Curry shit
Code Green: baby shit
Code Red: heavy chill eater or East Indian Curry shit
Code White: time to see a doc shit
don't forget Code Burgundy: No Inpatient Hospital Beds... quiet a common occurance in Calgary... :Þ
