However, I had to laugh at this one:

You don't have to be chained to your Inbox, but make sure you respond to emails within a few hours whenever possible.While I do my darnedest to attend to every email that slithers into my Inbox, you will be lucky if you hear from me within a few days. Granted, sometimes I reply right away, but other times, I don't have the answer yet, or the reply complicated or requires me to work on something first, both which takes time to do. I'm actually not at my desk for a good part of most days. (However, I am conscious of the fact that people are expecting a reply, so I really try to keep it to 5-business days maximum of not replying.)
And if there are any manger-types out there, is there anything you want to add, or disagree with on the list? I'm still a newbie at this game, and learning from others is always a plus.

Get a blackberry if you don't already have one. I see my boss replying to emails during meetings. He's on that thing 24x7. I often receive emails with timestamp in the wee morning hours when everyone is asleep.
